The County of Ventura is working on developing and redeveloping parts
of the 55 acres on South Lewis Road called the "Lewis Road Community".
For a history and vision of the future of this land we refer you to
the May 2025 Growing Works newsletter found HERE.
Here is a preview of how the land will be used:

Turning Point Foundation is excited about the new ways in which this land and the programs sited thereon can serve our community, especially adults with mental health challenges in Ventura County.
To this end Growing Works is working on raising $1 million for operating capital for the expansion of the Works family of programs:

Barn Works, a music/arts/crafts and light food service/supported employment program of Turning Point Foundation in the Growing Works model.

Harvest Works will grow food for the MHRC in the Growing Works model combining volunteerism, mental health recovery and supported employment. This will include a small hydroponic installation, greenhouse, hoop house and field raised crops, chicken and duck eggs, and a small orchard.

Nourish Works will be a program in the Growing Works model preparing food for the MHRC. They will assist adults with severe mental illness master culinary skills that can be parlayed into food service and hospitality careers.
