Caring for Unhoused Adults with Mental Illness for Over 35 Years
Turning Point Foundation is a local non-profit deeply committed to building a healthier community by offering compassionate and proactive treatment for adults struggling with mental illness, many of them homeless. Mental illness can touch anyone, regardless of their race, culture, income, age, or level of education. It affects one in four adults and one in ten children each year.
For over 35 years Turning Point's mission has been to improve the quality of life for adults experiencing serious mental illness, addiction, lack of housing and inadequate physical health care. We do this through providing health navigation services, rehabilitation, wellness & recovery programs, as well as temporary, transitional and permanent supported housing in Ventura County. We provide support to over 3500 people a year ranging from transitional age youth to seniors. We employ over 140 supportive staff. Our programs and services are based in Ventura, Oxnard & Camarillo. We currently have 12 locations and 18 programs (to include a 24-hour Emergency Shelter, a daytime Wellness Center, Horticultural Therapy Nursery and Veteran's Transitional Housing). We are now managing our 3rd Board and Care, with over 50 beds, that provides permanent housing for seniors diagnosed with severe mental illness. Our foundation works most closely with VCBH, CoC and the VA to accommodate referrals into our programs. Turning Point Foundation is also the organizer of the Ventura County Mental Wellness Festival each year.
Your donation insures funding for Turning Point Foundation to continue providing an umbrella of services around mental health to the most vulnerable and underserved in our community. We are truly grateful for your support!
