Mobile Wellness Peer Support

Turning Point volunteers Bobbi & Barry Yablow, painted this mural for our beautification project for Sunrise Manor, a board & care facility.

Mobile Wellness Services is a program geared towards offering Peer Support Services via wellness groups, group activities and community outings to individuals living in supported living environments.  MWS currently offers services at 1 transitional living center, one supported housing program, four homeless shelters and two board & cares.  MWS utilizes the evidenced based practice of Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) groups to assist individuals with improving their quality of life and develop wellness tools that can assist them in their journey towards regaining independent living.

MWS has been increasing its outreach to the community and has added five new sites within the last calendar year, bringing their total number of weekly sites to nine.  During that time, over 200 individuals attended groups hosted by MWS.

The program improves the quality of life of the residents through individual relationships with peer support staff, recovery groups, group activities within the home, and activities in the community that promote community integrations. It creates an environment that promotes recovery and movement toward independent living when possible.

If you manage a supported living environment in the Western Ventura County region and feel that the individuals at your site may benefit from Mobile Wellness Services, reach out to Program Manager Tyler Nash at (805) 653-5045 ext. 305
